Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell is said to have been identified as a “priority summer transfer target” for Chelsea.

Chilwell is top of manager Frank Lampard’s wanted list along with Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech, according to ESPN.

Chelsea will apparently look to see off competition from the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United for the Foxes left-back.

The £80m-rated full-back is expected to make Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2020 and Lampard believes he could offer Chelsea the stability and quality at left-back that they have lacked since Ashley Cole’s departure in 2014,” says the latest report.

Lampard will have money to spend after Chelsea’s transfer ban was lifted.

The Blues have also been linked with a move for Napoli forward Dries Mertens.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that none of his key players will be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

However, City may be bracing themselves for offers come the end of the season.
