Everton Women have landed their second signing of the summer as they look to strengthen the squad ahead of the new WSL season.
The Friedkin Group have significant plans for the women’s team in the coming years, and those plans are now beginning to be put into action in the transfer market.
Brian Sorensen’s side had endured a fairly slow start to the summer, but their business burst into life recently with the addition of Rosa van Gool.The signing of Van Gool is seen as a coup for Everton, as the young midfielder arrives with an impressive CV for her age.

Everton have been linked with plenty of new additions since TFG’s takeover, and another of those links has now materialised on Merseyside.The 20-year-old has been described as “a tricky forward who loves to take on her opponent” on the Everton website (5 July), and should be capable of helping Sorensen’s side reach greater heights this term.
Vignola was part of a Granada team that finished fifth in Spain’s Liga F last season, and she has now swapped the top flight of Spanish football for the WSL.The winger has also gained Champions League experience through her time with Barcelona, and is already catching the eye within her national team’s setup.

TFG have made it clear that they have a strong desire to improve Everton’s women’s team since their takeover back in December, and the first signs of that ambition are starting to show this summer.
The decision to allow the women’s team to move into Goodison Park has grabbed plenty of headlines, but it is now promising to see plenty of work being done on the footballing side of things.
After two consecutive eighth-placed finishes in the WSL, both Sorensen and TFG will surely have designs on breaking into the elite at the very top of the English game.
However, that cannot be achieved without investment, and also a knowledge of how to maximise the resources that are made available.
In Vignola, Everton look to have secured a signing who is capable of improving them straight away, but also has plenty of scope to continue developing over the next few years.
