Neco Williams won’t be the last Nottingham Forest player to pen a new deal this summer, if a hint by the defender is anything to go by.

On Tuesday, it was announced the Welshman had agreed fresh terms with the Reds. His previous contract had been due to expire in 2026 but Williams is now committed to the club until 2029.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis declared the news a sign of Forest’s ambition. And it seems other Reds stars might be about to follow in Williams’ footsteps.

The club have worked hard on tying down some of their key assets this year. Defender Murillo and striker Chris Wood signed new deals earlier in the year while head coach Nuno Espirito Santo penned a new three-year contract last month.

Talks have taken place with other members of Nuno’s squad about their futures. And Williams appears to have hinted at positive developments on that front.

Announcing his new contract, the right-back said on Instagram: “I’m delighted to announce I’ve signed a new 4 year contract with @officialnffc. Grateful for the trust the club has shown in me and the support from everyone around me!

“The work doesn’t stop here. Excited for what’s ahead this season in Europe and the Premier League.”
