The forward completed his move to Celtic for £1.7 million on Friday.
The Danish club posted a simple but heartfelt message on social media shortly after the deal was confirmed, saying: “Take good care of him! ❤️”
Nygren spent three seasons at Nordsjaelland and leaves with their blessing, having made a significant impact in the Superliga. The Swedish attacker hit 15 goals in his final season, earning international recognition and a move to Celtic.
It’s clear the club held him in high regard, and their message shows the strong relationship between the player and his former side.
The 23-year-old has now signed a five-year deal at Celtic Park and is expected to be involved in the upcoming pre-season fixtures, with fans eager to see what the exciting attacker will bring to Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Celtic have already been active in the transfer market this summer, securing the high-profile return of Kieran Tierney from Arsenal. The Scotland international arrives back at Parkhead with a point to prove and is expected to be a key figure in Brendan Rodgers’ plans. The Hoops have also added goalkeeper Ross Doohan to bolster their squad depth, bringing in a player who knows the club well and adds cover between the sticks.
Behind the scenes, work continues on finalising the signing of young Fulham striker Callum Osmand. The highly-rated teenager was spotted at Lennoxtown last week and is expected to put pen to paper on a permanent deal shortly.
