Celtic spent £4.3m on Nawrocki two years ago, but his career in Glasgow failed to properly take off as a result of injury issues and lack of game time.
Nawrocki performed well against Rangers and Hearts in March last season, but was also used sparingly by manager Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers agreed Nawrocki needs regular football this season and now, his loan move to 2. Bundesliga side Hannover 96 has been confirmed.
Nawrocki has penned a season-long loan and remarkably, the Polish stopper becomes the German outfit’s 14th summer signing.
Hannover have the option to buy Nawrocki next summer, as the central defender provided his thoughts to Hannover’s official website.
He said: “I’m incredibly happy to be here and now part of the team. I think we have an exciting journey ahead of us with many new players and a new coach.
“We want to attack the coming season with renewed energy. Now it’s time for me to quickly settle into training, the team, and the club.”
