There appears to be no limit on the good news spewing out of Ibrox at the moment.
Since Celtic moved to one match away from winning their ninth treble worried bears have been cheered up by a flood of good news stories to wipe away the anguish of another season looking in on Scotland’s Most Successful Club.
Two hours after the final whistle the Rangers Review and The Sun were providing updates that the takeover is running smoothly to plan with a completion date towards the end of May, two months away from the start of the Champions League qualifiers.
That suspiciously timed ‘update’ was welcomed across the board by Ibrox fans, there wasn’t a single dissenting voice across Ibrox fan media as they obediently picked up and ran with the exciting development.
In the early hours of Wednesday a large layer of icing was applied to the cake, coming from Robert Marshall, owner of the Louden Tavern and father of club SLO Greg it carries extra clout.
On Follow Follow he teased the loyal bears with plans for the stadium expansion that they have been waiting for since the capacity of Celtic Park was raised to 60,000.
The expanded stadium is a long running favoured moonbeam, in times of trouble Dave Murray would leak exciting plans to a favoured messenger, during his 11 months as CEO James Bisgrove gave a similar message during a Q and A alongside reinforcing the ban on Celtic fans again filling the Broomloan Stand.
The more that expectations are built up for the takeover the greater the pain will be when it falls apart or a heavily diluted version is dressed up as another Revolution!
Hopefully the next batch of moonbeams are issued soon after Celtic’s trip to Ibrox on May 4.
