Mark Robins update as £15m Coventry City transfer ‘agreed’

Coventry City manager Mark Robins today spoke about the future of star man Gustavo Hamer amid claims the Sky Blues have agreed a deal worth £15m to sell him to Sheffield United.

Robins has made it clear he wants to keep Hamer at the CBS Arena and admits the 26 year-old midfielder’s situation needs to be resolved quickly.

“There’s a lot of speculation around Gustavo at the moment and that’s something else that needs a resolution pretty quickly, one way or another,” he said.

Asked if a resolution over Hamer’s future was any closer, Robins added: “I don’t know, honestly.

“The big thing for me is I need some clarity on that because we need to move on a number of things anyway, regardless. But even more so if that’s going to be something where Gustavo ends up leaving and obviously he’s made his intentions clear.

“From my perspective, resolution to that quickly is something that needs to happen.”
