QPR are just playing their second league game at Loftus Road this season, with Gareth Ainsworth’s side having played four of their first five away from home.

And the return of football to Loftus Road appears to be timed to coincide with Lyndon Dykes’ return to play; the striker missed the last three games for QPR due to a knee injury but returned with Scotland during the international break.

The centre-back has yet to play this season after suffering a shoulder injury in pre-season, but Dunne is working his way back to health, according to the R’s manager.

“Jimmy has been out on the grass this week, and that’s a big plus for me,” Ainsworth explained. “That’s a big boost, and I’m pleased to say the treatment room has been looking very bare.”

QPR are 17th in the Championship league heading into this weekend, while the Black Cats are ninth.
A difficult outing…
This is a difficult game for both QPR and Sunderland.

QPR will be eager to return to home action following some difficult and lengthy away travels this season, having entered the international break on the back of a fine win at Middlesbrough.

Sunderland also won before the break, thrashing Southampton 5-0 at the Stadium of Light and going three games unbeaten after a shaky start to the season.

Dykes’ return will also offer QPR a major boost this Saturday, however whether he starts remains to be seen given Sinclair Armstrong’s recent form.

Dunne appears to be likely to miss out on ocne once more, but he appears to be edging in on a comeback action.

Saturday’s game begins at 3 p.m.
