Newcastle United vs. Brentford: On Saturday evening, the Magpies earned their second Premier League victory of the season.
Callum Wilson’s second-half penalty was enough to secure Newcastle United all three points against Brenftord, although the game was not without incident. The decision to award Wilson’s penalty, overturn a second, and rule out a third from the England international sparked heated debate – and Alan Shearer was among those who had differing opinions on each of the important decisions made by Craig Pawson and the VAR officials.

Taking to X, Shearer said that he disagreed with two of the three calls, particularly the first, which disallowed Wilson’s opener, characterizing it as a ‘poor weak decision’ by the officials.
Again I don’t think that’s a pen. #NEWBRE
