West Ham United defender Konstantinos Mavropanos might make his Premier League debut tomorrow against Sheffield United.
Konstantinos Mavropanos could start for West Ham against Sheffield United, according to Claret and Hugh, a website with close ties to David Sullivan.
The 25-year-old midfielder was signed from Stuttgart in the summer transfer window for about £20 million and has made two appearances for the Hammers thus far, in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup.
David Moyes, on the other hand, might give him his first Premier League start at the cost of Nayef Aguerd.
The Moroccan has been in poor form recently and could be dropped from the starting XI tomorrow…
A West Ham player might be benched for the Sheffield United match.
Aguerd has been responsible for numerous goals conceded this season, most notably against Manchester City and Liverpool in our previous two games.
When in possession of the ball, the 27-year-old has plenty of pace and quality.
However, his situational awareness is extremely deficient, and his decision making is frequently impulsive.
Last season, Aguerd made 18 Premier League games for West Ham (Transfermarkt), and despite displaying tremendous class at times, he demonstrated that he is far from trustworthy and far too error-prone.
When he returned from an ankle injury last season, the Moroccan international appeared to be a major player for Moyes. He has, however, clearly declined since then.
Nobody will blame Moyes if he rests him for West Ham’s match against Sheffield United in order to make room for Mavropanos.
