Recent years have seen an influx of talent from abroad, including the likes of Milos Kerkez, Dariusz Stalmach, Alex Jimenez, Alexander Simmelhack, Jan-Carlo Simic, and others, who have joined to strengthen the youth ranks, forming a foundation for a new core. And the management’s efforts are ongoing.
In late last year’s announcement, it was confirmed that Vincenzo Vergine had assumed the role previously held by Angelo Carbone as the Head of the Youth Sector. Vergine brings with him a wealth of experience, having served in a similar capacity at Fiorentina for 13 years from July 1, 2006, to December 31, 2019, and subsequently for the last two years at Roma.
Vergine’s plans have sparked excitement among fans, with rumors suggesting the establishment of an U23 team, while he also focuses on reinforcing the talent pool available to the academy.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, AC Milan has secured the signing of promising Pescara defender Emanuele Troiano ahead of the summer transfer window. Troiano, a 14-year-old with immense potential, is believed to have a bright future.
Il Pescara further reports that Milan has emerged victorious in the pursuit of Troiano, offering insight into a defender with significant potential.
“Insiders suggest that such talent has not been seen in Pescara’s youth sector since the days of Marco Verratti, albeit in a different role, making comparisons irrelevant. Unlike Verratti, Troiano will not have the chance to feature for the first team at Delfino, as he is set to move to Serie A in the summer, following in the footsteps of players like Diego Ripanis, who joined Juve, Lorenzo Romani, who went to Fiorentina, and Lorenzo Peschetola, who was sold to Inter, among others.
“The new sensation is Emanuele Troiano, born in 2010, making him 14 years old. Despite signing a two-year deal with Delfino, he is likely to join Milan in the summer.
“The negotiations are in their final stages, with Juventus, Inter, and other top clubs also expressing interest in the talented player – a central defender. However, AC Milan seems to have secured his signature, with experts considering him one of the best Italian defenders born in 2010, if not the best of his age group.”
