Kentucky is still searching for a top player in the class of 2025.

Mark Pope, who took over as head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, has been incredibly successful at attracting transfer portal recruits.

Pope also talked about his intention to continue attracting the top freshmen that Kentucky is known for producing.

Given that one of the top recruiters in the class of 2025 is still considering Kentucky, it appears that the university is still attracting excellent freshman.

According to 247 Sports Composite, Darryn Peterson is presently rated as the third-best player overall and the top-ranked shooting guard in the 2025 class.

The top recruit talked about his interest in the Mark Pope-led Wildcats in an interview that On3’s Joe Tipton published on Thursday. Peterson may make his way to Kentucky following an official visit in March.

“Coach (Mark) Pope extended an offer to me recently. I might pay them another visit. They still desire me, it doesn’t change. They want me and they’re interested too, based on what he’s seen. This year, I’m focused on Kentucky; I didn’t spend much time watching BYU.

The 6-foot-5 guard would be a huge asset to Pope’s class of 2025. It is noteworthy that during his time at Kentucky, Peterson was actively recruited by Calipari. Peteson stated that Arkansas is currently on the hunt and intends to see the Hogs at some point.
