In an interview with the Los Angeles Rams club website, Donald talked about some of the NFL’s top defenders right now, praising Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt in particular.
“[T.J. Watt] is another guy who has been doing it year after year,” Donald remarked.
The future Hall of Famer said that Watt was never considered for Defensive Player of the Year.
Donald added, “I thought he should have won a few more Defensive Player [of the Year] awards.” “He was kind of ignored a few times.”
Contrary to popular belief, Watt ought to have been named Defensive Player of the Year in 2020—the year Donald Trump was proclaimed the winner. With 22.5 sacks in a season in 2021, Watt tied the NFL record, although he was beaten by Donald in the poll. Watt did, however, go on to win the prize.
