As he approaches a departure from Nottingham Forest, Jonjo Shelvey is allegedly close to signing a loan deal with Turkish club Rizespor.

The 31-year-old signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Forest during the January transfer window. But since then, he has only made eight more appearances.

After spending seven months at the City Ground, he will depart for Turkey to complete the loan transfer, according to the Telegraph. Shelvey hasn’t played for the Reds since April after being left off of Steve Cooper’s 25-man roster.

According to reports, the midfielder had offers from England as well. Burnley, Sheffield United, and Leeds United reportedly all shown interest in the player during the transfer season. But he’s ready for a new beginning in the Super Bowl.

Additionally, according to reports but not yet confirmed, Giulian Biancone joined Olympiacos on a long-term contract after making just two appearances for Cooper. Additionally, the club will permit midfielder Harry Arter and goalkeeper Ethan Horvath to go permanently.

Biancone, Shelvey, Dennis, and Horvath are all missing from Forest’s 25-man Premier League roster.
